Prior to founding his firm, Mr. Bates was the senior partner of Boston, Bates, & Holt.  He began practice in April, 1976 as an associate of William E. Boston, who retired in 1991, and James L. Weatherford, who later served 19 years as Circuit Judge, 22nd Judicial District before being named Senior Judge.  The primary emphasis of the firm is aggressive civil litigation in personal injury cases,  including multiple seven figure judgments.  Mr. Bates has a total committment approach in representing his clients.  Past clients have included members of the bar and judiciary.  Further emphasis of the firm includes an especially high volume of domestic relations trials.  Mr. Bates is a sixth generation resident of Lawrence County and was honored in 1999 as the recipient of the prestigious Heritage Award from Main Street of Lawrenceburg.  Mr. Bates also serves on the Board of Directors of the Lawrenceburg Public Utilities.
