| In The
Beginning... (Established April
21, 1998) The Birth of the Celestial Travellers
This guild has a humble beginning, when two people met, as if by fate, and saw the need
for an alliance between the few people who possess a noble heart.
Ola Mystique was spending another afternoon tailoring in Trinsic,
saving her money with the goal to one day buy a home of her own. After making some
fine leather armor, she headed to the Honorable Arms to sell her wares. There she
met a man by the name of Vooch II. He seemed friendly and safe, so she did not fear
talking to him, as she did fear many of the brutish men of the land. They engaged in
some conversation while they worked, and she learned that he was new to town and in need
of some assistance. She remembered what it was to be new to Trinsic, and felt
compelled to help this decent man. From this altruistic act blossomed a friendship
that bound the two together on many journeys. Instead of lonely travelling, they
accompanied one another frequently on long journeys.
As they travelled, they encountered men of varying alignments.
Sadly, it seemed that the lands were being taken over by those of dishonorable
intentions. Few people were getting the assistance they needed, and even fewer were
learning of the noble ways of life that were taught so many years before. Man was
killing man for sheer profit. Monsters roamed the land untouched because so many
people were more interested in the easier income, the quick kill. Evil was spreading
fast. Too fast, Ola Mystique and Vooch II agreed, often discussing this horror in
the local pub. Times had changed and something had to be done...but what?
After much discussion, Ola Mystique and Vooch II decided that
they must start at the start...small but purposeful. Their new mission was to
develop a guild, inducting only the rare strong and noble of heart. With this small
beginning, their force would surely gain strength. With this strength, they vowed to
travel the lands, spreading the long forgotten words of altruism, nobility, and good.
When they were ready, they would venture to places far and near, protecting the
innocent and disciplining those of foul mind and soul.
The first step was saving money. Ola Mystique and Vooch II
worked night and day, saving every gold piece, until they had enough to buy a house to
share. They finally bought a house near the mountainside, near good hunting grounds.
It is here that they developed their skills, and worked on developing the guild.
The next step was finding a suitable High Council for their guild. After much
exlporing, they met one very kind soul, by the name of Gigi. She became interested
in the mission immediately, and donated her hard-earned gold to the mission. She was
the first of the High Council to be inducted. Then an old friend of Ola Mystique
inquired about the guild. Cynthia had a heart of gold, and her personal mission
matched that of the guild. She became the second member of the High Council.
With this force of 4 noble hearts, the guild was ready to embark on its mission.
The Dark
Age (August 1998)
Membership in the guild continued to grow at a slow, conservative
pace. The guild recruited Nausica, Lexxa, Britt LeMente, and Genbo. During
this time, many guild hunts were held in the dark depths of the dungeons and much money
was gained.
Ola Mystique, Vooch II, Lexxa, Cynthia, and Gigi saved their
money and together bought a tower, 2 tents, and a house. Lexxa also owned a tower
with Britt LeMente and were friends.
Lexxa, wanting to marry, started courting Ola Mystique and soon
the wedding bells were ringing. A large wedding ceremony was held at the N'ujelm
palace where 100% of the guild membership was in attendance. The ceremony was
performed by Lee Marin, a trusted friend of Ola. After much celebration, the two
left for their honeymoon.
Shortly thereafter, Britt LeMente felt betrayed about the wedding
because Lexxa was her true love. No one knows what was said, but soon, Lexxa
divorced Ola and resigned from the guild. Britt LeMente followed suit.
During this time, Nausica, left for a trip to Japan, and also
resigned. Genbo left because he returned to school.
Ola Mystique, feeling betrayed by her friends, stepped down as
co-leader and went to join the Gods of Brittania. This
placed much burden for Vooch
II since he had to run the guild and spend a large amount of time making money to buy
Lexxa and Ola Mystique's portion of the tower.
At the end of the dark age, the guild had 3 remaining members:
Vooch II, Gigi, and Cynthia.
The Silence (October 98)
One day, Vooch II chanced upon meeting Alyatte in Orc Valley.
They soon became friends and Vooch II offered a guild membership to Alyatte.
Alyatte accepted the position.
Gigi and Cynthia were rarely seen at the tower by Vooch II.
Alyatte practiced magery with Vooch II and did some hunting together.
For a month, guild activities were slow as the guild thought
about its future.
Renaissance
Period (November 98)
CT owned a "thought to be" secure tower. the
tower's entrance was surrounded by two tents and one house. Three people (cynthia,
Gigi, and Vooch II) were the only one with a rune to the entrance. Unfortunately,
the tower was stolen by someone named Compton. Compton was a member of the original
guild that sold us the tower. He appeared inside the house (after being logged out
for six months inside) after its purchase and ransacked the place. Inside were
master keys and the tower was lost when the housing patch went into effect.
Then, another member was added, Daniel, and a smaller, more
modest, guildhouse was purchased along with a new guildstone. Soon, new roles for
members and a new mission was created.
Our mission is to become one of the Top 10 largest guilds in
Chesapeake.
Vooch II retained the role of Guildmaster, Alyatte assumed the
role of High Council Scout, and Daniel took the role as High Council Quest Master.
Shortly thereafter, Mork joined the guild as the Venerable Mentor
and two Key members: Lilith, Paryss, and Sconius.
- Paryss, the Guild GM Smith, began smelting the ore right
away and fashioned new armor for the troops.
And the guild began to flourish once again!
New Guildhouse (January 99)
A new CT small guildhouse was established and the guildstone was
moved to allow all members a place to meet, visit, practice combat, and exchange wares.
Another member, Sephiroth, was added to the guild's list.
The Boom (February 99)
Membership in the guild was steadily increasing, but it was not
fast enough. Sometimes members were in need, but no one was available for
assistance.
In February 99, there was a sharp increase in membership.
There were a couple factors in the increase, namely: the guild framework was already
established, a goal of becoming one of the Top 10 guilds on Chesapeake (in terms of
membership), and a couple Recruiting Drives were held to get new members.
- Several key members were signed into the guild, namely:
Xanaxius, Sigundo, Ysanne, Lil Bug, and Beanie Babies.
The Bust (March 99)
Because of the sharp expansion, a lot of the members didn't know
each other and confusion and low morale was growing. To combat the tensions, the
guild was separated into two distinct groups: the Calvary (those mounted on horses)
and the Infantry (those on foot).
These groups were formed to prepare each member for combat.
The Calvary, lead by Lil Bug, got off to a great start leaving the Infantry
in the dust. In the end, Changes had to be made to the Infantry leadership to
strengthen it.
- Marjane Lander, Katz, Talimor, Jade, and Mare Imbre were added to
the guild roles during this period.
- Membership requirements were changed to slow down the recruitment
process. Now, a 7-day waiting period and 2 sponsors were required for each new
member.
The guildhouse started to see some signs of wear and tear as the
membership started outgrowing the guildhouse's size. Discussion began on finding a
new, larger guildhouse.
As in all histories, this one will grow as the guild's experience
and membership grows. |
